Edward Chester Lampson papers, 1647-1948.

Materials collected or written by Lampson include items obtained from the Rev. John Gregory of Adrian, Mich., part of the lost Strachey papers, and letters from the London publishing house, Cadell and Davis. Correspondence to Lampson and his father came from prominent individuals such as Walter F. Brown, Theodore E. Burton, Myers Y. Cooper, Simeon D. Fess, Myron T. Herrick, Theodore Roosevelt, John Sherman, Booker T. Washington, J. Edgar Hoover, and Harry Houdini. Lampson's literary works include three manuscript novels: Black passions, about the Sons of Liberty and the underground railroad; Kate Corrigan, about pioneer life in the Western Reserve; and a Temagani princess, written in the style of James Fenimore Cooper.
